Why I chose to pursue a career in marketing and events
When I was at Baseball Lifestyle 101, the work I was doing was meaningful. In spite of gaining 2.2 million views across all of my content, I felt obliged to challenge myself. It made me reconsider my career path, and I knew from attending many different sporting events during my time outside of the office how it felt to be in such a cool and welcoming atmosphere. I began sending applications to master’s programs around the country and eventually landed back at my alma mater, the University of Miami.
From the very first day of classes, I went straight into learning about sports marketing, sports partnerships, event management, and other major elements of working in the sports industry.
To pursue my dream of working in sports. I was able to take different courses such as Principles of Sports Marketing, Event Management, and other courses. I was able to utilize these skills through work experiences with the Marketing & Event Experience Department, the Miami Dolphins, and the Formula 1 Crypto Miami Grand Prix. I served as a Circuit Crew Lead and mascot with the Formula 1 Crypto Miami Grand Prix and a Marketing and Event Experience intern with the University of Miami. I was able to create and execute many different promotions and events such as the University of Miami Fear of God Adidas partnership.
